Our History

The Collier & Peek Funeral Home was established in 1952 after Jess & Lola Collier, as well as Billy and Mildred Peek saw a need for a Funeral Home in Marshall County. They purchased the John Lovett home, which was built in 1896 and was located at 1302 Maple Street.

The funeral home was operated as the Collier & Peek Funeral Home from 1952-1957. In 1957, Jess and Lola Collier purchased the Peek's interest and renamed the funeral home, Collier Funeral Home.

The funeral home was completely remodeled in 1967 with an addition of a new permanent Chapel.		 hist2

In 1977, Robert and Brenda Taylor purchased an interest in the funeral business.

Construction began in 1998 for the new facility at 211 W 5th Street and was completed in June 1999. In October 1998, Jesse Collier passed away, and Robert and Brenda Taylor became sole owners.

In December of 2007, Mitchell Lee purchased the funeral home from the Taylors.

As always, at Collier Funeral Home, we continue to serve our families in a caring and professional manner at a time when families need to rely on someone they have come to trust over the years.
Much has changed over the last 60 years that Collier Funeral Home has been serving the people of this area, but our commitment and dedication to providing a comfortable home like atmosphere with a compassionate and professional service has not and will not change, because we are family and we care. hist4
